History

1893
Founder Kiyoshi Yamamoto was born in Izushi Town, Hyogo Prefecture.
1917
Established Yamamoto Yogyo Shoten as a brick and ceramic tiles distributor in Kita-ku, Osaka.
1940
Obtained a patent for "Lath Mosaic," a mural mosaic technique, and established Nihon Tohrisha. Also started exporting overseas.
1953
Granted patent for "CERASTONE" (marble mosaic), an exterior wall material using granulated ceramics.
 
Established Yamamoto Yogyo Research Institute in Tagawa, Higashiyodogawa-ku, Osaka.
1957
Succeeded in developing and launched "·CERASKIN" (sand granular ceramic sprayed tiles), for the origin of colored ceramics.
 
Began manufacturing, sales, and installation in Shibata-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City.
1961
Removed headquarters and factory to Nishi-Awaji, Higashi-Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City.
 
Reorganized into corporation, starting Yamamoto Yogyo Kako Co., Ltd., with a capitalization of two million yen.
1964
Set up Seto Factory in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.
1968
Removed headquarters and factory to Settsu City, Osaka Prefecture.
1969
Founder Kiyoshi Yamamoto passed away, and Hiromichi Yamamoto assumed President.
1972
Established Seto Ceramy Co., Ltd., as a raw material supply company.
1976
Developed "CERASKIN ROLLER," a finishing material designed for application using a roller, and began sales.
1977
Factory certified under Japan Industrial Standards (JIS).
1982
Set up and removed production facilities (site area: 11,500 m2) at Haio, Saiji, Fukusaki-cho, Kanzaki Township, Hyogo Prefecture.
 
Also removed Head Office to Minami-Suita, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture.
1985
A series of finishing materials blended with colored ceramic aggregates were integrated and branded as "COLOR CERAMICS."
1986
Developed "CERACAST," a stone-like finish coating material, and began sales.
1987
Developed "TERRAX," with an earthen wall pattern and the "CERAFLAT" featuring a smooth natural stone-like texture, and began sales.
1988
Developed "CERACUBE," with natural stone-like split texture, the "CERACAST D," featuring a travertine pattern resembling marble, and the "CERAGRANI," with a granite-like finish, and began sales.
1991
Developed "U-NEX," sheet-formed with stone-like interior/exterior wall covering, and began sales.
1992
Removed head office to Toyotsu-cho, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture.
1994
Developed "KOTEFINE," trowel-type finish coatings, and began sales.
 
Developed "DEBAN," a dry-type finishing material composite board, and began sales.
1997
Established a technology center building in the factory.
 
Developed "MOLDFOAM," a landscape material for civil engineering and construction and began sales.
2000
Developed "TERRAX2000," a finishing coating material that uses pigments to achieve vivid colors, and began sales.
 
Developed “REISO,” finishing coating material for diatomaceous earth interiors and began sales.
2002
Head Office, Osaka Branch Office, and Fukusaki Factory obtained ISO9001:2000 certification.
 
Developed "TERAWALL Si," a creative patterned finish coating material, and began sales.
 
Developed "VESTREFINE," a roof coating of silicone blended, and began sales.
 
Developed "MULTISTONE," a finish coating material that creats a granite-like appearance with easy application, and began sales.
2003
Developed "YUKACERA," a finishing coating material for floors, and began sales.
2004
Developed high-weather-resistant silicone finishing materials with cast patterns "GOOD CERA-G CAST," ripple patterns "GOOD CERA-G ROLLER," and sand-finished washout patterns "ARENAMURO," and began sales.
 
Developed "HICYCOLOR," a finishing coating for wall renovation, and began sales.
2005
Developed "AYAKA," a multicolor interior finishing coating material and began sales.
2009
Developed "GRATE,'' which can be applied with a trowel to create a stone-like appearance and began sales.
 
Developed a series of ultra weather-resistant fluorine finish coatings and began sales.
2010
Developed "OPTIMACOAT," a photocatalytic paint with self-cleaning function and began sales.
2011
Developed "TERAWALL V," a silicone-based micro-elastic creative finish coating material and began sales.
2012
Developed "TERACOOL Si," a heat-blocking energy-saving paint that blocks the sun's heat and began sales.
 
Developed "TERRASHIKKUI," a creative finishing coating material that improves air quality with plaster and began sales.
 
Toshiki Yamamoto assumed President.
2013
Developed and began sales "VESTREFINE COOL," an advanced version of the ultra-high weather-resistant roof coating material "VESTREFINE COOL Type,'' which shows no signs of deterioration for more than 10 years after installation, with energy-saving features added.
 
Developed "NEOFRESH DANNETSU," a micro-elastic heat-insulating energy-saving paint and began sales.
2014
Developed "REFINE SYSTEM," designed specifically for detached siding renovations, and began sales.
2015
Developed "NEOFRESH TIARA VS," a multicolor patterned paint, and began sales.
2016
Developed "New House Series" and began sales.
2018
Developed "MADESTONE VS [Takumi no Ishi]" and "MADESTONE VF [Takumi no Ishi]," new stone-like finish coating materials, and began sales.
2021
Developed "HICYART VM COOL TYPE," featuring a matte look, and began sales.
 
Developed "NEOFRESH TIARA ROLL VS" and "NEOFRESH TIARA ROLLER VM," multicolor patterned paints that can be applied using a roller, and began sales.
2023
Becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASAHI EITO Holdings Corporation.
 
Yasushi Ueno assumed President.
